About the speakers
Bettina Otto has a background in biology, having earned her PhD from the University of Cambridge. Since 2017, she has been involved in technology transfer at various German universities. In 2022, she joined Charite BIH Innovation as a Technology Scout and Technology Manager. In 2024, she transitioned to the role of Startup Consultant and Technology Scout within Charite BIH Innovation.
Thomas Marek Wallach has been doing biomedical research at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, after studying biology at the Free University of Berlin and the Rockefeller University. In May 2022, he moved to Charité BIH Innovation (CBI), the joint technology transfer office of Charité and the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH), to combine his interest in basic/clinical research, innovation and commercialization. Since August 2023, Thomas also serves as the administrator of a collaborative research center initiative at the Charité.
