Seminar

DZG seminar series "Computational topics in biomedicine"

This new seminar series aims to bring together data science and AI initiatives from the German Centers for Health Research (DZG). Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with international speakers who have made significant contributions to the translational application of AI and data science.

At the next session, Alen Faiz from the University of Technology Sydney will give a presentation on "Decoding the lung using single cell atlases of models of airways disease."

A/Prof Alen Faiz is a molecular biologist and geneticist, and is the founder and leader of the Respiratory Bioinformatics and Molecular Biology (RBMB) Laboratory. The laboratory focuses on understanding respiratory disease biology at the genetic and epigenetic level, particularly in response to environmental exposures such as cigarette smoke and viral infection. A/Prof Faiz’s research program has made significant contributions to understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying COPD and asthma through the development of advanced bioinformatics pipelines, single-cell analyses, and innovative cell culture and genetic editing approaches.
