Symposium

Wissenschaft pro Demokratie

Especially since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have witnessed the widespread dissemination of misinformation aimed at reinterpreting or negating scientific findings. In this symposium, we want to draw attention to this danger and counter it.

Scientists from various fields will discuss current threats and possible countermeasures. Firsthand accounts from affected scientists in other countries will illustrate the impact of illiberal or authoritarian government policies on science. The symposium will bring together diverse perspectives from the fields of science, medicine, journalism, and politics, as well as the interested public, to initiate a multifaceted and balanced exchange.
