World Mosquito Day outreach event

To mark World Mosquito Day, held annually on August 20th, we will set up an information booth the following Saturday in Heidelberg’s busy pedestrian zone. There, we will present our research, highlight invasive species in Germany—focusing on Heidelberg and the Rhine-Neckar region—and discuss current challenges in mosquito control. 

This event is open to everyone interested in finding out more about the tropical disease malaria. We provide exciting insights into our research and show real blood smears under the microscope. Children can look forward to craft stations and an interactive quiz that imparts knowledge in a fun way.
