World NTD Day 2026: Unseen realities: art, policy and conflicts—A fight against NTD

This one-day event is organized in synergy with an art competition held by the German Society for Tropical Medicine, Travel Medicine and Global Health (DTG), the working group Neglected Tropical Diseases, the Ethiopian NTD Youth Initiative Alert Gursha, and the Ethiopian artist Solomon Kifle. The art competition is sponsored by the Andreas Ruppel Fund. The entries selected by the jury for this art exhibition will be displayed at a vernissage during the NTD conference: ”Unseen realities: Art, Policy and Conflicts- A fight against neglected tropical diseases”.

In addition to the exhibition, the event will bring together experts from non-governmental organizations, representatives of the DZIF, and political actors for a panel discussion. The focus will be on current global challenges and their impact on the fight against neglected tropical diseases. Afterwards, the audience will have the opportunity to visit the vernissage and talk to the panel participants and members of the DZIF TTU Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases.

The event is aimed at members of the public with a general interest in global health and politics, as well as politicians and NGOs.
