Plasmodia are unicellular
parasites. Some species can cause
malaria in human.
Detailed description
Plasmodia have two life cycles. One of them takes place in mosquitoes, the other in vertebrates. As their development is temperature-dependent, plasmodia are mainly found in tropical and subtropical areas.
