Three associated partner institutions complement DZIF with their specific scientific expertise. While not formal member institutions, they are integrated into the research network and benefit from selected DZIF programs and infrastructures.
The Immunology, Infection and Pandemic Research (IIP) site of the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP), located in Penzberg and München, focuses on developing innovative diagnostics, therapeutics, and surveillance tools for infectious diseases. Directed by DZIF scientist Michael Hoelscher, the institute works closely with Roche, LMU University Hospital, and other research institutions in München, many of which are actively involved in DZIF research.
