Associated partners of the DZIF are researchers based at German universities and research institutions that are not among the DZIF’s member institutions. Partner at Ruhr University Bochum is (as of September 1, 2026): Eike Steinmann.
Our associated partner Eike Steinmann at Ruhr University Bochum is participating in a project on hepatitis E. On the one hand, new antiviral treatment options are being researched, on the other hand, manifestations outside the liver. Among other things, neurological cell culture systems are being developed in Bochum for this purpose. Eike Steinmann is also involved in a project on variants of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
