Immune control of viral reservoirs
This DZIF satellite symposium is jointly organized by scientists from ANRS-RHIVIERA and DZIF research area HIV, and aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the current state of research on the immune control of HIV reservoirs, and consequences for HIV cure research.
To this end, several international experts from the field of HIV research are invited. The meeting will take place as a satellite meeting during the AIDS 2024 conference in Munich on 25 July.
The following speakers are scheduled for the symposium:
- Thumbi Ndung’u, Africa Health Research Institute, Durban, South Africa: "Immunometabolism during acute HIV infection/immunotherapies in people treated during acute HIV infection."
- Veronique Avettand-Fenoel, Institut Cochin, Paris, France: "Viral dynamics during natural and post-treatment HIV control."
- Philipp Schommers, University Hospital Cologne, DZIF, Germany: "HIV-1 broadly neutralizing antibodies and their potential role in future cure strategies."
- Philippe Rascle, Duke University, USA: "MHC-E presentation of SIV-derived peptides mediated antigen-specific NK cell responses in SIV-infected rhesus macaques."
