Introduction to R
The workshop offers an introduction to the software "R". Increasingly, physicians and biologists are facing large amounts of data that can no longer be analysed "by hand”. The R environment offers free software facilities for data manipulation, calculation and graphical display. It thus allows handling of large data amounts, simplifies the interpretation of the data, or enables a deeper analysis.
The workshop will take place May 15-17, 2023 online via Zoom.
Agenda:
Mon, May 15, 10am-4pm: Fundamentals of programming in R, including syntax, data types, use of R Studio, data import and export, and data processing techniques.
Tue, May 16, 10am-4pm: Data analysis techniques in R, including correlation analysis, statistical testing and creating visually appealing graphs with ggplot2
Wed, May 17, 9am-1pm (open end): Case study to apply the concepts learned to real-world sequencing and SNP data analyses, including the creation of heat maps.
starting from 1pm (optional): Open session to discuss your own research/project and the use of R for it.
