Short description
Microcephaly is a condition where a person's head is smaller than average considering gender and age.

Detailed description

Besides genetic reasons, microcephaly can have other causes: infections such as rubella, toxoplasmosis, and syphilis as well as maternal infections with Zika viruses or alcohol abuse during pregnancy. The brain malformation accompanying the deformities of the head is usually associated with abnormalities of the physical and mental development.
