International consortium against antimicrobial resistance
Rolf Müller becomes a member of the scientific advisory board of the European partnership OHAMR
Rolf Müller has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance.
Prof. Rolf Müller, Scientific Director of the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS) and scientist in the Novel Antibiotics research area at the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF), has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (EUP OHAMR). Founded in 2025 and co-financed by the European Commission, the consortium is expected to provide a total of around €250 million in funding for research and innovation projects in the field of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) over the next ten years.
In addition, EUP OHAMR will focus on capacity building, better utilization of research data, and the translation of basic research findings into potential applications. In the long term, the initiative aims to contribute to the development of new solutions for the treatment and prevention of resistant infections and to close existing knowledge gaps on the topic of AMR. The EUP OHAMR thus directly ties in with the activities of the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR), which expired in May 2025.
As a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, Müller will advise EUP OHAMR on scientific and strategic issues related to the topic of “One Health.” In addition, the members of the Advisory Board will provide feedback from the scientific community and be available for workshops and networking activities. All members will initially be appointed for a period of three years, with the possibility of a one-time extension.
