How do scientific discoveries become new therapies, diagnostics, and health innovations? The German Centers for Health Research (DZG) will provide answers to these questions from November 9 to 11, 2026, at BIO-Europe in Cologne. At booth 7-42, the eight centers—including the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF)—will showcase innovative technologies, translational research projects, and successful spin-offs, demonstrating how excellent research can reach patients more quickly.

The DZG will also use this international partnering platform to present promising technologies and research approaches to potential development, industry, and investment partners. The goal is to initiate new collaborations that translate scientific findings more quickly into concrete solutions for patients.

Discover innovations, initiate collaborations

Representatives from all eight DZG centers will be available for discussions at the joint booth. In fact sheets, they will present current technologies, innovations, and projects from their portfolios. In addition, experts from the technology transfer departments will offer individual consultations and one-on-one partnering sessions on DZG technologies, patents, and collaboration opportunities.

In Conversation: Success Factors for Research Transfer

A highlight of the program is the fireside chat session “Cracking the Translation Gap: Lessons from Germany’s Coordinated Translational Research Model.” DZG spokesperson Prof. Stefanie Dimmeler and Prof. Heiko Lickert, a researcher at the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) and founder of Viacure GmbH, will discuss how research networks, effective technology transfer, and entrepreneurial engagement can help translate scientific breakthroughs into innovative healthcare solutions.

The DZG looks forward to engaging with researchers, companies, investors, and other stakeholders who want to actively shape the future of medicine.
