Workshop

Late translation in infection research—from bench to public health

What does “late” translation in infection research mean, and how is it done for vaccination and public health prevention strategies? We are pleased to announce the face-to-face workshop on translation in infectious diseases research.

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the “late” translation of decision-making. Examples of epidemiology and surveillance of, e.g., vaccine-preventable diseases will be used in lectures and interactive exercises to illustrate translation from data collection in the laboratory to modeling and decision-making.

The workshop is part of the Translational Seminar Series at the DZIF partner site Hannover–Braunschweig. The course is free of charge and intended for young scientists (PhD students, early career postdocs). Interested senior scientists of all fields of research from the DZIF and other DZGs are also welcome to participate.

On the other hand, group photos and photos during breaks are taken with usually more than 20 people pictured.

Relevant categories of personal data:

What do we process your data for (purpose of processing) and on what legal basis?

We generally process your data on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR in the context of public relations work. This applies to capturing the atmosphere of the event, group photos and shots during breaks.

Who receives your data?

In order to publish the photos from the event for the purpose of public relations, we pass on selected shots and thus possibly also your data to Twitter, LinkedIn, print service providers and the press.

  • Deletion (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • Objection (Article 21 GDPR)

With regard to the right to information and the right to erasure, the restrictions pursuant to Sections 34 and 35 BDSG apply. In addition, there is a right of appeal to a competent data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR in conjunction with Section 19 BDSG).
